Frequently Asked Questions

Blossoming Together - a local homeschool convention

It all begins with a seed. When you start considering to homeschool your children, when your homeschooled child becomes interested in a particular topic, when you visualize their future. These are all seeds. Blossoming Together hopes to help you cultivate these seeds for growth. In community, everything is easier. The second annual Blossoming Together Homeschool Convention will be held on May 11, 2024.

Here are some FAQs for what to expect from Blossoming Together Homeschool Convention:

Is this convention for me?

If you homeschool in any variety of ways, this convention is for YOU! If you attend a hybrid school, virtual school, co op, educational program, or if you homeschool independently, you are invited! Even if you are just considering a homeschool journey, this is a great place for you to grow.

What can I expect from this convention?

You can expect to see everything our wonderful community has to offer. With over 60 vendor booths, a networking area, many sample curriculums on display, and 18 seminars, you can expect to leave feeling equipped, encouraged, and inspired.

Is this a family event?

We know that family is the reason seeds are planted in the homeschool community. We would love for you to attend with your children. There is a large field located directly in front of the Mark Clark Hall where children will be able take a break to run and play. Children will need to be supervised by their parents/caregivers at all times.

Will childcare be available?

YES! New to the 2024 convention, Marea with Recess & Results will be providing childcare at an additional cost. Childcare will in set up with tents and a roped off area on the Somerall Field directly in front of the convention building. Marea is a homeschool mom of 4. She is passionate about supporting homeschool moms in their homeschool journey. She is co-founder of the Homeschool Revival Village and owner of “Recess & Results with Marea” where she specialize in play-based fitness for children and their families. She lives in Holly Hill, SC. and enjoys spending time with family, meeting up for playdates with friends, and napping. Pre-registration is highly encouraged as space is limited. There will be sibling discounts available. Let your kids have a BLAST while you attend seminars and browse the vendor hall! Will there be vendors that sell curricula?

Blossoming Together is focused on community. While we see the obvious importance of curricula, the majority of vendors will be made up of local businesses that benefit the homeschool community. There will be over 15 homeschool curriculum samples for you to review on our curriculum sample tables. A list of those available are on the vendor page. A few vendors will be selling curriculum as well. Our other vendors will include a variety of services, educational supplemental resources, etc.

Where will the convention be held?

This year we are hosting the convention in Downtown Charleston on the Citadel campus. The vendor hall and classrooms will be held on the second floor of the Mark Clark Hall. We believe this location will better serve our needs as a community. We are expectant for a better convention experience in 2024 at this beautiful new location.

What do I need to bring?

We hope to provide a day of fun, encouragement, community, and laughter. Pen and paper for taking notes may be helpful in seminars. Vendors will have items for purchase. Treat yourself! Swag bags will be given to the first 100 attendees who walk through the door.

What are the lunch options?

Unfortunately, with the limited space we have there will not be food vendors present. However, on the first floor of the Mark Clark Hall there is a Chick Fil A and Starbucks that will be open to the public.

Will there be a posted schedule for the day and a list of vendors?

YES!! As we approach the convention date, a full schedule for seminars and list of vendors will be posted. There will also be a brochure given out at the convention.

Is this event secular or religious?

Blossoming Together will be made up of people from all different backgrounds. All are welcome at this event. We will stand in unity and solidarity and focus on the things that we have in common. Our hope is that all homeschoolers feel represented and included in the community.

Will tickets be available at the door?

Yes! We understand that not everyone has the luxury of planning in advance. Tickets will be $15 at the door. Cash and credit card will be accepted. If you or someone you know is unable to attend due to lack of funds, please email vsmith@homeschoolcharleston.com. We will do our best to accommodate everyone in our community to make sure all homeschoolers have ability to attend.

Will there be volunteer opportunities?

Yes! The convention would not be possible without the help of volunteers. This year there will be chances to sign up to volunteer. To show our appreciation you will receive one free ticket into the convention and a t-shirt to wear while you are volunteering. Sign up here!
