Out here, the classroom doesn’t have walls. It has tides. Birdsong. Pluff mud between your toes. We believe children learn best with the sun on their face and a paddle in hand—when they’re given the freedom to get curious, to get messy, to fall in love with the natural world.
With Charleston homeschool students, we’re raising the next generation of stewards, scientists, and saltwater explorers. Our homeschool adventures are grounded in place—shaped by the rhythms of barrier islands, saltwater creeks, and the sounds of migrating birds overhead.
Rooted in South Carolina’s grade-level science standards, each week explores a new theme—like barrier island ecology, tides and wind, water safety, marine biology, and environmental stewardship. For older students, we introduce paddling skills through guided kayak and paddleboard sessions.
Our classroom is the coast. Depending on tides and weather, we launch weekly from our Shem Creek campus to places like Morris Island and Crab Bank Seabird Sanctuary. When the weather keeps us indoors, we shift gears—working on hands-on, nature-based projects in our learning lab.
A few of the weekly adventures: Fossil hunting along ancient shorelines; Dip netting and marine species identification; Kayaking and paddle boarding for 4th–8th grades; Make your own field guide; Owl pellet dissection and wildlife biology; Tree cookies and plant anatomy; Water quality and microscopes

We are a family business that helps offices and homes with aquarium services-- installations, routine maintenance, upgrades, troubleshooting, vacation coverage, etc. As a homeschooling family, we also know the value of multi-disciplinary learning. Through aquarium-keeping, families can explore biology, chemistry, environmental science, math, plumbing, engineering, and socio-emotional learning through purposeful means. We also offer an 'all inclusive' start-up aquarium package that specifically guides new hobbyists through the set-up and establishment of the tank's ecosystem. Families can choose to invite an aquarium technician to their home for weekly walk-throughs, or they can dive into the program through self-study. Summerville Youthdreams Company is a youth musical theater company (grades 2-12). Our rehearsal venue is Covenant Life Church in Summerville. My co-director, a vocal performance major (with a focus on Opera) from the College of Charleston, and I want to extend our program to homeschoolers in the area. Our program is structured to help students learn about musical theater as they prepare for performances, thereby boosting confidence and self-esteem. We will also offer Vocal Performance classes for those interested in learning voice lessons, vocal technique training, and stage presence.
Our curriculum would also enable high school students to earn credits in music and theater arts. For the upcoming season, we are considering several Broadway shows, including Frozen Jr., Moana, and Disney's Dare to Dream. Please feel free to reach out to me at 843-696-674

Turning Point USA is a nonprofit student organization that empowers students to share their beliefs through peer-to-peer conversations, eye-catching materials & resources, and exciting events. TPUSA High School chapters learn about the Constitution, American exceptionalism, and free enterprise. Students gain valuable leadership skills and training while sharing the values of freedom with their peers. Students are able to bring the ultimate patriotic club to their community by starting a TPUSA Students chapter.

We provide competitive sports opportunities for home educated athletes in the Charleston, Dorchester, Berkeley Tri-County Area of South Carolina. We compete against public, charter, and private schools as well as other home school associations. Currently we have boys soccer, girls volleyball, and basketball for both boys and girls.

At Fit Mommy Charleston, we believe every mom deserves a supportive place to focus on her health and well-being—no matter her stage of motherhood. Whether you’re a brand-new mom, a seasoned mom, or somewhere in between, you’re welcome here.
Our program uses resistance bands and weights, with exercises offered at varying levels of difficulty so moms of all fitness levels can participate and feel successful.
At least once a month, we offer a kids’ activity after the workout, with all supplies provided. It’s a fun opportunity for kids to get creative—and since we’re outdoors, the mess stays out of the house! Each class also gives children the chance to socialize, engage with one another, and learn alongside their moms while staying active.
It’s an amazing opportunity for both moms and kids to be outdoors, stay active, connect socially, and build a healthy lifestyle together.
